Snowboard Test Trip – New Zealand

As with any product, field testing is a critical part of the product development cycle. Fortunately snowboard development falls into this category and once again its that time of year when new snowboarding products require R&D on the Southern Hemisphere slopes.
To put the new product to the test and gather some valuable performance feedback before production, the Elan Snowboard Factory sent a number of 2011 prototype boards to us for some on hill test time. This year the destination was Queenstown, New Zealand.

Tony Hawk Tours Sydney

Tony Hawk and the Birdhouse skate team droped in on Sydney’s Monster skate park on saturday evening to put on a great vert ramp demo. There was a decent turn out and some great riding. Keep reading to view the picture gallery.

Gravis Skate Team – Sydney Olympic Park

The Gravis skate team showed off their skills last night at the Monster skate park, located in Sydney’s Olympic park - Homebush.
Their international team including such riders as Arto Saari, Dylan Rieder, Javier Mendizabal, Jake Johnson, Steve Forstner, and Dominik Dietrich stoped off briefly in Sydney on their Australian tour.

2009 SIA Las Vegas

“Wheel Of Fortune”….ding! ding! ding! ding! ding! ….. Ah, the sounds of Las Vegas welcome the 2009 SIA tradeshow for its final yeah in Sin City. For those of you who don’t know about the SIA show, its North America’s largest snow sport tradeshow of the year, where all of the industries major players converge to show off their latest products. We accompanied the Elan manufacturing team for the 4 day long show, visiting with their new and existing customers aswell as walking the show and reviewing the new products on offer.

09/10 Arbor Snowboards Sales Meeting

Early December 2008 - Arbor Sports held their annual sales meeting in Austria at their new snowboard manufacturing home – the Elan snowboard factory. Distributors, reps and suppliers from all over the world flew in for the week long event to participate in the release of Arbors new 2009/2010 product offering.
Design Cartel had the honor of being invited to the event as we had been working with Arbor during their snowboard factory transition to Elan. Our role involved the complete re-design of their snowboard line, from new board shapes & materials, to the refinement of the product line plan & line philosophy.
The week long meeting was a great success and the perfect mix of both business and pleasure. Many thanks to Elan and Arbor for putting on such a well organized, productive and enjoyable event!
